Dr. Mandpe holds the esteemed position of Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore since October 2021, where he continues to inspire and educate future engineers. His impact on education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his diverse teaching experience. He has imparted knowledge to a multitude of students, teaching a wide array of courses and contributing to laboratory development. He has more than eight years of experience working in the broader field of Environmental Engineering and Science. Dr. Mandpe is a Graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Pune and has completed his Master’s in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP). He completed his Ph.D. from the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), working at CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), Nagpur, which is a cornerstone of research and development in India, driving environmental solutions and advancements critical for the nation’s sustainable future, under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Kumar (Alexander von Humboldt- Stiftung Senior Researcher Fellowship Awardee).

Dr. Mandpe’s areas of interest encompass a broad spectrum of environmental concerns, demonstrating his commitment to addressing pressing issues and shaping the landscape of environmental policies and legislation. His professional skills and accomplishments exemplify his dedication to advancing environmental engineering and sustainability. His executive skills encompass a wide range of expertise, including waste sampling and analysis, laboratory development activities, scientific and technical proposal writing, and the meticulous preparation of detailed project reports. Dr. Mandpe has a remarkable track record in organizing various national and international events, fostering global collaboration in the field and connecting professionals across the world. He also serves as an official reviewer for several prestigious journals, contributing his expertise to publications in Business Strategy and the Environment – Wiley Online Library, Energy, Elsevier, Environmental Challenges, Elsevier, Environmental Chemistry Letters, Springer, Environmental Pollution, Elsevier, Journal of Environmental Management, Elsevier, Sustainable Materials and Technologies, Elsevier, Science of the Total Environment, Elsevier, Trends in Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Elsevier and other esteemed journals across the environmental and engineering spectrum.

Dr. Mandpe has received several awards and achievements for his contributions to the field. Notably, he received the CSIR-Direct SRF 2019-20 fellowship, the NFSC-2020 (UGC-NET JRF) fellowship, and the prestigious Best Young Researcher Award in 2019 from CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. His research excellence also earned him the DST-SERB International Travel Support Scheme grant for a conference in the USA. Additionally, Dr. Mandpe’s dedication to environmental sustainability was recognized with the Babasaheb Ambedkar National Research Fellowship (BANRF) in 2015, awarded by the Government of Maharashtra for pursuing his Doctoral studies. In terms of academic accomplishments, Dr. Mandpe has a strong track record. He secured second prize for his model on the Greenhouse Thermophilic Composting System at the India International Science Festival 2020 and received recognition from DST & Texas Instruments for designing the ‘Next Generation Smart Bin.’ His academic prowess is underscored by his qualifications, including qualifying in the UGC-NET Examination (Environmental Sciences) and GATE Examination (Civil Engineering).
